Best Oregon Country Wedding Venues

January 29, 2020

Filed in: Weddings

If you’ve been cruising the blog for a while, you know there is a special place in my heart for Oregon country weddings!  I love a good field, a barn, rolling hills with valley views, and plenty of space for a dance party!  Luckily, my couples are on the same page as me–they love venues that can accommodate their closest friends and family in a relaxed, natural atmosphere.  So, I thought I’d round up some of my favorite Oregon wedding venues, with an eye to ones that have those same country values.

These are all venues to take in a beautiful view in nature during your ceremony, and cozy up with your friends over a great meal.  And, because this is ALWAYS on my wish list, these are all great venues for incredible wedding day portraits!  Some of these wedding venues have a barn or a farmhouse bridal suite: rustic old wood, whitewashed barns, well…that’s my love language!  Another key feature I love at wedding venues is a fabulous natural element: a big natural field, an incredible cottage flower garden, rolling vineyards.  These are always PERFECT places for glowing sunset photos!  And, full disclosure, this should probably be named the best NW Oregon venues–I mostly serve Portland and Salem area weddings.  I know there are fabulous venues in Bend, Eugene, the coast, and southern Oregon–but these are my favorites local to me!

Carlton Hills Winery

This is a fabulous Oregon wine country venue!  It has definite laid-back country vibes with a rustic white barn and oak tree-lined dirt paths.  SO perfect for portraits!  It’s surrounded by vineyards and has a great view out over the valley for your guests to enjoy.

loch lolly tree farm wedding - country wedding venues in oregon

Loch Lolly Tree Farm, North Plains

This is a new favorite for me!  After this Loch Lolly Tree Farm wedding last summer, I can’t wait to go back!  Not only is the lakefront ceremony area completely stunning, but the view from the top of the tree farm is incredible!  It’s that perfect natural field with the coastal range in the background that just screams OREGON!

Maysara Winery, McMinnville

I second shot a wedding for Studio 623 Photography at Maysara Winery, and I would LOVE to go back!  They have a huge indoor space where you can have a rustic reception among the wine barrels and stone features, and then head outdoors for wedding portraits in the vineyards.  See that beautiful wedding that started my love of Maysara here!

McMenamins Cornelius Pass Barn Wedding Photographer in Hillsboro Oregon-01

McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse Octagonal Barn, Hillsboro

The Octagonal Barn at the McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse is a more urban barn since it’s in Hillsboro just off of Hwy 26, but that makes it super convenient if a lot of your guests are traveling from the other side of Portland and you want to stay close to the city.  As with all McMenamins locations, it’s surrounded with beautiful gardens and a bit of forest that make it a total oasis.  The string-lit barn is cozy and perfect for an intimate wedding surrounded by your favorite people.  Check out this beautiful Octagonal Barn wedding from last year!

McMinnville wedding at The Falls Event Center vineyard wedding - Hillsboro wedding photographer

The Falls Event Center, McMinnville

The Falls Event Center in McMinnville is a great option for couples who need a larger indoor space that still has some beautiful natural locations for portraits.  It’s a huge log cabin style chapel, and surrounded by vineyards for some Oregon wine country wedding style!  Summer sunsets in the vineyards are incredible: check this wedding out!

Tillamook Forest Smith Homestead

I love this option for a rustic wedding surrounded by the forest!  This modern rustic building is great for a cozy cabin style wedding.  It’s connected to all sorts of trails to wander out to for some photos in the field or along the Wilson River.  See Lauren and Corey’s Smith Homestead wedding here!

horning's hideout oregon country wedding venue

Horning’s Hideout, North Plains

This is such a fun wedding venue!  There are a few different site options on their HUGE property.  The lake is their can’t-miss feature: and yep, there are paddleboats for all of your The Notebook-inspired photography dreams!

green villa barn wedding oregon - hillsboro wedding photographer

Green Villa Barn, Independence

Green Villa Barn is an adorable venue just south west of Salem, out in the country.  It’s surrounded by some beautiful gardens and has a great indoor space as well.  Emily and Ryan’s fall wedding at Green Villa was stunning!

Wish List Venues!

These are some more venues that are perfect for couples looking for a country-style Oregon wedding, surrounded by the natural beauty of our state!  Several have barns, because, well, if you haven’t guessed by now, barn weddings are my JAM (um, especially if those barns are WHITE for even more light+airy goodness)!  If you’re planning a wedding at one of these venues and you’re looking for sunlit, airy images–reach out!  I want to talk to you!

Postlewait’s Country Weddings, Canby

Postlewait’s in Canby is all about country elegance and I LOVE it!  Their barn venue is beautiful, and it’s surrounded by a working farm with vineyards and fields!

The Barn PNW, Dayton

I mean, of course with a venue name like The Barn I’m going to want to shoot there!  The Barn PNW has a classic red and white barn surrounded by forests, orchards, and fields.

Heiser Farms, Dayton

I’ve been following Heiser Farms on Instagram for a while and I’m totally in love with their white barn!  It’s surrounded by picture-perfect fields and seriously couldn’t be any more perfect for a couple looking for a light and airy country wedding!

The Butler Barn at Hoffman Farms, Scholls

I adore Hoffman farms in my regular, non-photographer life: they are my go-to for berry picking with my kids and some of my very favorite memories are from summer days on their farm!  So I’m thrilled that they also host weddings at their rustic wood Butler Barn.  And, even better….you can have TWO BARNS!  Their Hoffman Barn is adjacent to the Butler Barn and it’s a WHITE BARN!  My heart.  The white Hoffman Barn doesn’t open up for the wedding, just the rustic wood Butler Barn, but for incredible photos…that white backdrop is all we need for some rustic light and airy goodness!

Phew!  That was a BIG roundup, but I sure hope it was helpful for you as you plan your Oregon wedding.  I adore joyful weddings surrounded by nature and full of good dance moves–and these venues are all PERFECT for that!  Don’t forget to pin this post for later so you can refer back to this list of the best Oregon country wedding venues!
