Oregon Wine Country Wedding Styled Shoot // Hillsboro Wedding Photographer

June 5, 2019

Filed in: Weddings

A few months ago, it was rainy and cold and I was under probably ten thousand layers of blankets and I had a vision: SUMMERTIME!  I wanted fluffy pink peonies, soft sage green eucalyptus, and a bride in a layered tulle dress in the sunshine.  It’s been AGES since my last styled shoot, which I did at Bald Peak, and so it was TIME!  I wanted to do an Oregon wine country wedding styled shoot, preferably right here in Newberg.  Something low key, warm, airy, wine country rustic, with plenty of peach and pink fluffy flowers!  I chose my favorite place in the valley for the styled wedding venue: Champoeg State Park in St. Paul.

The beautiful Monica and her husband Brian joined in as my models, and it was awesome to help them celebrate five years married with a photo shoot!  Catherine from Sewell Sweets here in Newberg added an incredible cake to the shoot with HANDMADE SUGAR FLOWERS on it!  SERIOUSLY, this woman gets my vision.  I also invited a few friends from the Professional Women Photographers of Yamhill County to shoot with me, and it was just the best, most supportive and creative environment I could have asked for.  Just the perfect start to the summer season!  I love how this Oregon wine country wedding vision came to life and I am just so thrilled to share these images with you today.  If you could see inside my little wedding heart, this is what its dreams are made of!

Seriously, Monica??  You’re STUNNING!!

Really, is there anything more fun than twirling in a swishy dress in a sunlit field?  I totally love when brides choose dresses that have layers and movement like this–it means we get to do some of these extra fun twirly shots!

So this cake.  Friends.  Cat handmakes these flowers.  They look just like real flowers–I mean, they’re so delicate and soft looking, and those colors are just so real!  But they’re made of SUGAR!  She’s a magician, this woman!  Go see more of her incredible artisan wedding cakes here!

I really can’t think of a better way to end the night than in the apple orchard at Champoeg.  In the early summer, the sun sets just off to the side of this orchard and it gives it this warm glow that just is EVERYTHING that I love about country life.

Thank you to everyone who collaborated on this with me!
