This summer has felt like the summer of families bringing their DOGS to sessions and I’m SO FREAKING EXCITED about that!! If you’ve read my past posts about family pictures with a dog, you know I love those doggos, and I adore when families include their pets in their sessions. It involves a little extra planning and a willingness for everyone to go with the flow a little more, but that generally means more opportunities for candid moments of sweet family togetherness. I have a few more yet to shoot and blog but gosh, it just makes my job so much more fun. Anyway, Brigitte and her family met me in Newberg for their family photos, and we had just the perfect summer evening!
This mama and son photo is probably one of my FAVORITES so far this season. It feels so quiet and sweet and just reflected their relationship perfectly. And those wildflowers in the tall field behind them? PERFECTION. Isn’t summertime in Oregon just the best?
Doggo!! Just the best behaved dog, and that FLOOF!! We’re still in the puppy stage with our golden retriever and things are MUCH more…”energetic” so I’m just always so impressed by all the dogs who are older, wiser, and calmer! Look at these best buds.
I always tell families who bring their dog to their session to prepare for way more candid photos, but sometimes, we get lucky and the dog decides to be all majestic. Loved this sweet moment with them!
I loved spending time with this sweet family–thank you for entrusting me with your family photos this year!
Friends, if this post has you thinking of including your dog in your next family photo session, 1) YES PLEASE–bring on the floof 2) hop over to this post about things to consider when planning family pictures with a dog!
