These Portland family photos have all of my favorite things: soft pastel colors, glowing morning light, the sweetest family, and a little giggly baby girl! I’ve fallen more and more in love with morning sessions in the summer, and this light right here? THAT’S the reason! Babies being happier in the mornings is such a bonus too! It may mean I’ve spent my summer sacrificing my Saturday mornings but gosh, it’s worth it!
Family photo sessions in Portland really are magical in the summertime. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again! I encourage all of my clients to aim for summertime for their sessions to get the best shot at this glowy light that just gives a photo that extra soft, sweet feel. Portlanders though, also are not generally big on HOT weather! So morning sessions give you that beautiful light, dry (usually!) weather, AND it’s still relatively cool so everyone can be comfortable.
I loved how this family chose soft colors for their wardrobe that reflects that soft, hazy feel of summer mornings. The simple, classic look is just my favorite and adds so well to that light and airy style that I adore. And they came ready to cuddle up to each other and have fun! What a perfect morning!
