I’m Samantha of Samantha Shannon Photography.  I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Hillsboro, Oregon.  I love crisp, colorful, and sun-drenched portraits, and I strive to capture the beauty in every little moment and every little family. 

I grew up in Aloha, Oregon, and I’ve loved photography since I was on the high school newspaper — as an editor! I wrote my way through college (Go BEAVS!) as an English major and yearbook editor, and then through grad school in a creative writing program. But darn it, I was always a little bit jealous of the photographers at the newspaper and yearbook checking out amazing cameras and running off to make beautiful photographs.  

I learned what I know about photography from my grandfather and my mom, and then from the community of photographers I was blessed to find in my previous home in the Sacramento area.   After the birth of my son, our family moved to Hillsboro and I’m so happy to be back home!  I’m currently booking portrait sessions in and around the Portland area: email me at hello@samanthashannonphotography.com to learn more about scheduling a session!
