I love when a client contacts me with a vision for their photos that is totally in line with my style! Alaina contacted me to schedule a relaxed, light and airy family photo session in a summer field and I was ALL about that! Alaina helped that vision come to life with her family’s outfit selection–she opted for a soft maxi dress for herself that flowed so beautifully in the breeze and gave a timeless feel to the session. They wore pastel and soft neutral colors that helped us achieve that overall light and airy look for their photos. And you know what? It didn’t hurt that their daughter was 100% adorable!
They drove down from Hillsboro to meet at Champoeg State Park in Newberg for an early morning session. While I totally love golden hour in the evenings for soft, glowy light, it is sometimes ideal to work with when your kids are happiest! Because happy, well-rested kids usually means they will be happier in the photos! So if you have younger kids who aren’t at their best by the end of the day, don’t be afraid to ask about a morning session. We’ll choose a location that works for a morning session and trust me–happy kids are WORTH the 9am session time! And I mean…if you have kids, 9am isn’t really that “early”, is it? I’m writing this at 7am on a Sunday and I’ve been up for HOURS! #momlife.
