Mykael and Evan met in college at Oregon State University and immediately recognized each other as old souls, perfect for each other. On Saturday they were married in a ceremony at Mykael's grandparent's property. They filled their day with so many important heirlooms and all kinds of vintage style! Then they headed for their Gatsby garden party style reception at McMenamin's Grand Lodge. There were heartfelt toasts, a serenade to Mykael from Evan's fraternity brothers, and a lot (I mean A LOT) of dancing! These two are a couple that loves their family and friends with their whole hearts, and they took time all day long to incorporate meaningful mementos into their wedding day. I loved walking alongside them for this day! Congratulations, Evan and Mykael!
This bouquet! I loved this!! Westside Florist did an amazing job on it, and I also loved that it was inspired by Mykael's mom's bouquet at HER wedding!
I've mentioned I'm Team First Look With Dad, right? Because this.
You remember Lauren and Corey's forest engagement session with their sweet dogs, right? I knew their wedding would be just as fun and relaxed--it was in the forest with their dogs too! Lauren and her bridesmaids got ready at McMenamin's Grand Lodge, and I met them there for some photos before we made the drive out to their ceremony site.
The ceremony and reception were at Smith Homestead in the Tillamook Forest, which was in a BEAUTIFUL little clearing in the forest, along the river. After their ceremony, they had a champagne toast and confetti toss, which in my opinion, is the ABSOLUTE BEST way to celebrate just getting MARRIED!!
After that, Lauren's dad presented Corey with his TOP SECRET BBQ recipe, since he was now an official part of the family!
Then we headed into the forest for a little walk with the bridal party. I loved how relaxed the whole day was, because Lauren and Corey put plenty of time into their timeline to do things like "walk around the forest with our best friends". #weddinggoals, people. I love them, and I love the images we created during this time.
Back at the Homestead, the reception guests had arrived and it was time for more FUN! Lawn games were set up in the clearing, and indoors, there was a candy bar, bundt cakes for the wedding cake, and this adorable instax camera for the guest book. I love how much thought Lauren and Corey gave to creating a super unique and FUN wedding for their guests! Love you two---and congratulations!!
Sorry, friends. I obviously fell down on blogging this winter! I tend to post weddings right away on Facebook and then dive into editing to get my couples their wedding photos back quickly, but I know they're waiting for their blog posts too! I'm doing some catching up this week, and I'm so excited to share Shellie and Kevin's beautiful fall wedding at McMenamin's Grand Lodge in Forest Grove!
Shellie's entrance to the wedding was down an iron staircase from the Children's Cottage down to the ceremony at the Sequoia Grove. Her daughter met her at the bottom of the stairs and walked her down the aisle.
Once Shellie met Kevin at the front of the ceremony site--they waited, and waited, until Kevin's brother stood up from the front row and walked up to them to MARRY THEM! This was a total surprise they had planned, and it was such a sweet surprise for Kevin's mom!
Then we had some portrait time in seriously the most MAGICAL light EVER.
This bouquet!! It was so beautiful! And I loved the rustic barnwood elements in the reception--always my favorite!
Congratulations, Shellie and Kevin!! This was a BEAUTIFUL wedding!
