Extended family sessions are so fun! A lot of times, I think families really only get professional photos of the WHOLE family---grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles, grandkids, everyone--at weddings. Which is awesome and obviously something I enjoy, BUT--there's a whole lot of life that happens before and after weddings! There's nothing better than photos like these to go up on the walls while your kids are growing up!
These two kids? GOT A PUPPY the day before our session!! And brought her to be in some of the photos!! Is that the most adorable puppy ever?? She's so SMALL and fluffy!!!!
I love photographing weddings. There's the excitement and joy of the ceremony, the crazy fun of the reception, and all day, that sense of the start of a new season in the couples' lives. Watching my wedding couples start their lives together on that first day as a married couple never, ever gets old. And when my wedding couples come back to me for family photos with their new little babies? Best. Thing. Ever.
Travis and Trini's wedding at Bridgeport Brewing (and their epic ROCK CLIMBING reception) was one for the books. Documenting their new lives as parents of a sweet little girl at their home was even better.
And of COURSE we didn't forget to include their pup, the star of their engagement session at Rood Bridge Park!
This engagement session has been in the works for a while, and I'm so happy to finally share it today! I've been chatting with Lauren and Corey since the fall about their engagement session, and we went from Christmas tree farm to dog park to a forest session and my goodness I am SO GLAD we ended up where we did!! We had a bright, sunny spring day to hike some trails through the forest above Portland and it was amazing! They brought their two puppies and we all hiked around and found beautiful parts of the forest to explore and it felt totally them. I couldn't imagine this session any other way.
I love, love, LOVE when the family dog gets to come along to a portrait session! I've had dogs my whole life, and since we don't have one right now, it's always a fun day to meet another family's dog and make some portraits! Molly and Pippin brought their A game to their family's session at the Jenkins Estate last weekend--good dogs!
It's been a crazy fall family portrait season over here, especially as our family adjusts to life with a newborn! I've TOTALLY fallen behind on my blogging, but as we wind down into December, I'm hoping to catch back up! I wanted to share this epically Pacific Northwest fall session with you from last month that we did with a Dan and Katherine, whose Union/Pine wedding I shot last year! They brought their kiddo and their dog and we adventured all over the Jenkins Estate for some updated family photos!
Trini and Travis are getting MARRIED in a few weeks at a super epic celebration that includes ROCK CLIMBING! So, naturally, we had to create some super epic engagement photos! We met up at Rood Bridge Park so we'd have plenty of space for them to hang out with their sweetheart of a dog. She may have stolen my heart just a little bit!
Trini and Travis, thanks for spending the evening making photos with me! And thank you for introducing me to your adorable dog!! I can't wait to photograph your wedding in a few weeks!
