I'm not sure if "backyard wedding" is really the best way to describe this totally gorgeous wedding, because this particular backyard is INCREDIBLE--a beautiful field with the best sunset light, surrounded by a Christmas tree farm and awesome red barn. With the handmade touches that Kimberly and Ty added (that arch? Ty BUILT it!) plus a dance floor MADE for boot stomping, it was a perfect venue for these two to get married! Studio 623 Photography, thank you for inviting me to second shoot with you again, and Kimberly and Ty, congratulations!
A few months ago, I traveled down to Salem's Willamette University to assist Stephanie Kaloi Photography with Jackie and Alex's wedding! I'm thrilled to be able to share a few of those images with you today!
Jackie and Alex have a sweet how-we-met story that involves music, math equations, and home-baked cookies. So OF COURSE their wedding day was equally as adorable. Jackie and Alex, with their friends and family, put so much love and work into each detail of this wedding--from the vows they SANG to each other, to the math equation cookie favors--this wedding was undeniably THEIRS.
After the ceremony at Willamette University's Cone Chapel, everyone headed over to the family's property in West Salem for a tea party in the garden! The tables were filled with collected vintage china and vases overflowing with pastel ranunculus and pink peonies. Each table had macarons and finger sandwiches, AND there was a vintage root beer cart! AHH!!! I could have photographed the details for DAYS.
Jackie and Alex, thank you so much for letting me share your day with you!
Tasha and Andy's wedding ROCKED!! Like...LITERALLY. From the killer dance moves on the dance floor to the table numbers that were band names instead of numbers...this was a wedding MADE to turn into an epic party! I mean, who can say no to dancing when you're sitting at The Rolling Stones table?? Tasha and Andy's friends and family came together to make this a beautiful and incredibly fun wedding, and something people said over and over during the toasts were how much these two care for their friends. It's so obvious that these two have surrounded themselves with a beautiful and loving community, one that couldn't be happier to see them making it official after many years together!
Tasha and Andy live in Warren, but their wedding happened all throughout Columbia County. The ladies got ready at The Vanity Room in St. Helens, then hit McCormick Park just down the street for some photos. The ceremony took place on the riverside at Welter Beach in Rainier, and then the party moved to Goble Tavern for an open-air reception underneath the willow tree. Before their grand entrance, we stopped at Trojan Park for a few formal photos of Tasha and Andy at one of their favorite spots.
This reception!! The details were all so heartfelt, handmade, and full of love. Tasha and her sister made these beautiful paper flowers that were used in her bouquet, on the cake, and as table decor. Tasha started collecting vintage brass keys and used them in the seating cards. At each table, there were sheets of paper for guests to fill out with their favorite memories and their hopes for the couple, along with a Polaroid camera so they could attach a photo to the card. How cool is that??
Tasha and Andy, thank you so much for inviting me to document your wedding day. You're a beautiful couple and have SO MUCH LOVE surrounding you! Enjoy your honeymoon!
