Today is another 2017 recap day--this time, we're checking out part TWO of my favorite photos from 2017 family photo sessions! I'm starting with a few more favorites from sessions at Champoeg in Newberg (Barns! Pink tulle skirts! All of my favorite things!)
This extended family photo session in Hillsboro at Rood Bridge Park was so fun--this family brought their BRAND NEW PUPPY!! Those kids are the HAPPIEST kids!
This maternity session in Aloha at Cooper Mountain had one energetic little girl so we spent tons of time playing in the field.
And then it was FALL! Would you believe this was also Cooper Mountain Nature Park?? What a difference a few weeks and a different trail can make! Loved all the fall vibes in this family session!
This session! This sweet family introduced me to their favorite neighborhood park in Hillsboro, which just so happened to be BEAUTIFUL! And look at that tiny brand new baby! Loved this family!
This family was ready to play and have fun at their fall family session at Jenkins Estate in Beaverton. So many fall colors!
We even found some fall colors in the orchard at Champoeg for this sweet family session in Newberg!
This family is my FAVORITE! We've done a lot of sessions together (and their wedding!), but this was definitely the COLDEST so far! They hung in there and we got some super cozy family photos for their holiday cards!
And one last favorite at my favorite spot with a sweet family and their PUPPY!
Thank you all so much for allowing me to serve your families with a fun session and beautiful photos! I love each of your families so much! Here's to a fabulous 2018 family portrait season!
Yep, it's FEBRUARY and I'm just now doing my "Best Of 2017" posts, but....let's just roll with it. I've been catching up on blogging my 2017 weddings for most of January, so I wanted to take a quick break from my beautiful couples and highlight some of my favorite FAMILY sessions that happened in 2017! I'm starting with some of my favorites from spring and summer! First, this session with the most magical light ever at Rood Bridge Park in Hillsboro--one of my favorite local spots for a forest session!
We bought our first house and moved to NEWBERG in the spring of 2017, so I invited clients out to explore Champoeg State Park with me and fell in LOVE with this beautiful location.
One of my wedding couples from 2016 invited me to their home for a NEWBORN session which was just the sweetest! And PS: seeing prints of my photos on clients walls is the BEST feeling!
Spring was THE time to see favorite past clients! I've photographed this sweet family a few times now, and this time I got to meet grandma and grandpa too!
Springtime was for wildflowers and pretty dresses at Cooper Mountain Nature Park:
I also made it out to Cannon Beach for a few sessions in the summertime, which is ALWAYS worth it!
And just as summer started to turn to fall--this adorable family session at Champoeg with HAY BALES, the barn, and picket fences, so, literally all of my favorite things!
Next up is part two of my 2017 family photo session season: FALL PORTRAITS! Prepare yourselves for fall colors, crunchy leaves, and cozy sweaters!
Forest and Field Family Photo Session at Cooper Mountain Nature Park | Hillsboro Family Photographer
When one of my favorite families came back to me for this year's fall photos, we decided to try the same location we'd shot at before (see it here!). We wanted to make sure it looked different enough, but still had the field that they loved. We used the beautiful field area at Cooper Mountain Nature Park, and then also ventured into the forest for the last half of the session. I loved the variety we were able to get here, and I especially loved all the fall vibes with their adorable mustard + plaid outfits!
This sweet momma has probably had her baby by now, but I wanted to pop onto the blog to share this maternity + family session I did last month at Cooper Mountain Nature Park in Aloha! When we were planning their session, Laetitia wanted to make sure we had a low key, candid, FUN session for her family, and we did just that! We kept her toddler busy playing with bubbles (PS: this little girl is one expert-level bubble blower!), playing airplane, cuddling her favorite stuffed animal, and doing plenty of exploring! I hope this family is enjoying being a family of FOUR by now!
This sweet family was so, so patient for their session! Somehow, even though we kept scheduling our Cooper Mountain Nature Park session for mid-June evenings, we kept getting rained out! And not just a little rained out...RAINED out! Thunder and lightning storms in the forecast? I'll pass on that hilltop session, thanks.
So when our third try at scheduling rolled around and it was sunny, we were THRILLED! Bring on the wildflowers and the ring around the rosie games, it's a family photo session at the park in summertime!
If you've been following the blog for a while, you know that Cooper Mountain Nature Park in Aloha is one of my very favorite places to shoot at: there's tall grass, views of the valley, and it gets the very BEST sunset light! I was so thrilled Angela and Steven chose that location for their engagement session last weekend!
It's no secret that I'm a big fan of summer--the hardest part of my move from Sacramento to Hillsboro was adjusting to the much longer rainy season! So last week's unexpected sunny weather for this family photo session made my day! A sunlit, glowing field with an adorable family to photograph is pretty much my favorite thing ever. Enjoy your photos, M family!
So I am technically on maternity leave, but since the little one is taking her sweet time and I am sitting around with nothing to do but wait anxiously, I thought I may as well catch up on sharing some blogs with you!! August was a super busy month with weddings and family sessions and then editing those photos before leave started, so I'm excited to have a chance now to catch up on my blogging! I met with this sweet family on a warm August weeknight to create some photos to document their little one's first birthday! I love, love, LOVE shooting at Cooper Mountain Nature Park because I always find such fabulous light there and overgrown fields are kind of my THING! Enjoy some of my favorites from this first birthday / family portrait session!
One of my VERY FAVORITE images from this session, because I am biased and a sucker for mommy and me images. Those tiny fingers, mom's smile, LOVE!!
This session. Oh my. A beautiful couple in love, a summery Oregon field on a warm evening, and some glowing light--all of my very favorite things. Emily and Ryan drove out from Forest Grove, and I'm so glad they did! We had such a blast walking around Cooper Mountain Nature Park in Aloha. I'm super excited for their barn wedding in October with a burlap + lace theme: MORE of my favorite things! Ahhh! I love these two!!
