It's been a while since I shot at Rood Bridge Park! Every time I go back, I remember how totally magical it is, and this family session last week was no different. It had been pretty hot all day, but then as I climbed the little hill into the forest, the most perfect, flowy-hair breeze kicked in and stayed for the whole session! Then this sweet little family showed up ready to explore and have fun! The result: glowing sunset photos with lots of sister giggles, tickle fights, and adventure!
If you've been following the blog for a while, you know that Cooper Mountain Nature Park in Aloha is one of my very favorite places to shoot at: there's tall grass, views of the valley, and it gets the very BEST sunset light! I was so thrilled Angela and Steven chose that location for their engagement session last weekend!
Remember that day that it was spring? After our looooong rainy winter, that one Saturday where it was dry and warm before it got BLAZING HOT on Monday? Well, on that one perfect day, I met up with Lindsey and Adam in Oregon City for an engagement session on the bluffs overlooking the river. We could hear parties on the riverboats below and that was the day that I knew summer was just about here! They're getting married in August, so capturing this last little bit of their last spring before they become husband and wife was PERFECT for our spring day!
This view!! I could probably have stayed here all day.
Enjoy your photos, Lindsey and Adam! Your wedding is going to be such a fun celebration!!
From the minute I met these two, I knew their wedding was going to be an emotional, joyful day and it totally WAS! You might remember their Jenkins Estate engagement session last fall, where they were basically just super adorable and cuddly and in love, making my job super easy. A few weeks ago, their wedding day was finally HERE! They had a beautiful indoor ceremony and reception at Camp Turnaround in Gales Creek, and in the breaks from the rain, we wandered around the grounds for photos because all the springtime blooms were happening!
Lacey gave each of her parents a special gift before the ceremony--her mom received hers first and that's about the moment that alllll of the happy tears started for everyone!
I loved all the little surprises Lacey had planned throughout the day, and her total focus on enjoying the day with her family! After she was in her dress, the first thing she wanted to do was have a "first look" with her father. Such a great idea to have this special moment for the two of them!
This ruffled cake from Next Dimension Bakery was already so adorable, and then they went and added a dinosaur bride+groom topper! A dino couple!!! Could they be any cuter, really??
And then?? THEN they did a super colorful PAPER AIRPLANE EXIT!!! AHHH! How creative is that?? It was such a beautiful sendoff!!
This engagement session has been in the works for a while, and I'm so happy to finally share it today! I've been chatting with Lauren and Corey since the fall about their engagement session, and we went from Christmas tree farm to dog park to a forest session and my goodness I am SO GLAD we ended up where we did!! We had a bright, sunny spring day to hike some trails through the forest above Portland and it was amazing! They brought their two puppies and we all hiked around and found beautiful parts of the forest to explore and it felt totally them. I couldn't imagine this session any other way.
Well, we're officially one month in to our Newberg and homeownership adventures, and we are 100%--no, 1000% happy with our decision to move here! As spring FINALLY decides to show up, we're getting to explore more and more of our new town, and it's been a total blast. Champoeg State Park was one of our first introductions to the area, and I went back last weekend for another mini sessions with one of my favorite families. Remember Nicole's mommy and me session two years ago? I'm so glad we got a chance to update their family photos, this time with dad and a little brother too!
